6 months gone by, only 4 more to go!!

Yesterday I had a two hour delay for school, because of the cold, and today no school at all because it's raining ice. Yasss I love the South :D. And if it's gonna snow, I don't have to go to school again, life is is so much easier here^^ And there is nothing better than not having to go to school and spending the day with a puppy on my lap and drinking coffee, I need some more of this days.

So I'm here now for half a year, which means that they are only 4 more months to go. Even though I'm really excited of meeting my family and friends again (especially my nephew who was born when I was already in the States, so I've never met him before) I have mixed feelings about it. It's gonna be over so soon, and I waited so long for it, but I don't wanna spend the rest of my time here being sad, because I'm gonna experience so much more in the next 4 months, for example I'm going on vacation to Orlando with my local coordinator and some other exchange students, and it's gonna be amazing, I'm so excited!

Here in the South they're all a bit crazy about the cold and snow, so from the week January 18 - January 22 I had barely school, it looked kinda like this:
Monday: No School bc of Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Tuesday: 2 hours delay bc of cold (I went out with wet hair and it was frozen^^)
Wednesday: No school bc it was raining ice
Thursday: No school and I have no idea why, it wasn't even cold^^
Friday: Dismissed 1 1/2 hours early bc of snow warning (it didn't snow until 7pm)

When it finally snowed on Friday evening, I felt like I didn't see snow in like ten years or something, ahhhh I love snow!! My hostmum and I drove up Signal Mountain on Saturday to visit friends because they had more snow up there and it was amazing, even though they didn't had that much snow. I played outside with the friends' children and we made snow angel, had something like a snow ball fight (the snow wasn't wet enough for making real snow balls) and sledged and now I have a cold but that was totally worth it. Yass I'm acting like a 10 year old when it's about snow.
Ha, I'm proud of myself, 2 posts in one day! #I'mawesomeIknow\
See ya' sometimes, hopefully soon^^

Thanksgiving, Homesickness, and Christmas

Okay, I have the feeling that a year is over since I posted the last time. This post is gonna be about a lot of different things, because a lot of different things happened.

Just before thanksgiving break I was homesick, it wasn't that bad, not as bad as that I'd have like to go back to Germany or anything, it sucked, but I talked to my local coordinator and to friends (I'm just not that kind of person who can talk with their parents about it, no matter if real or host parents) and then I felt a lot better, also I didn't really had time to think about it, because we drove to Indiana to spend Thanksgiving with the family of my host dad. We hit the road Tuesday night, after my host mum came home from work. We stayed at the house of my host dad's sister and husband. They have two foster children, the most adorable children I've ever met, I totally fell in love with them :). On thanksgiving itself we didn't had a big dinner, the sister of the husband of my host dad's sister and her son came over and it was more like a small nice family dinner. We got up at seven or something in the morning on Black Friday, and my host mum, my host dad's sister and mum and me went to the mall to go shopping. I spent way to much money, but at least I have now enough clothes. Kind of^^. On Saturday we had a 'Friendsgiving' dinner a few houses down, with a lot of other neighbors and A LOT of children. This was ore like a thanksgiving dinner, with way too much food, which was way too good, so I ate way too much :D. We left on the next day in the morning, and I spent most of the time sleeping, until we came to the town where we picked up our puppy. He was and is the cutest thing I've ever seen, and he grew so much since the last time I've seen him, when I came to visit all the puppies a few days after they were born with my host mum. So, we picked him up, and took him home with us, and he's so damn cute, and he grows so fast.

Before Christmas I was homesick again, this time a bit worse, and it stayed for about a week, bu I distracted myself with a lot of things, mostly Murphy (our Golden Retriever puppy) and it was mostly over before Christmas break. I didn't really had a problem with homesickness during Christmas or my birthday, I missed my family a bit, but mostly because I wished that they could be here with me on Christmas, because it was just the best Christmas in my life and I wished that I could have shared it with them.
My host mum's parents came to visit over Christmas, so while my parents had to work I spent a lot of time with them. There wasn't snow on Christmas but it was so warm that I could have worn shorts. My mom actually wore a summer dress to church. We went to church on Christmas Eve and it was awesome. The feeling was amazing, it was like you could just feel the spirit or something. It was a lot of singing, and just celebrating, they had a light show and it was awesome. After it we had a little dinner with some friends, and were just hanging out together and had a nice evening. On Christmas Day we unpacked presents in the morning, and then had a big Christmas dinner, the grandparents from my dad came over and it was really nice, the food was really good, I could eat it like every day^^.
On the 28th we went to an Italian Restaurant and had my birthday dinner a night before, because my mom's parents left on the 29th, my birthday, and so they could celebrate with me. The food was really good, and when we were back home, we ate the cake my mom made for me. My parents had to work on the 29th, so I went to a friends' house, and we had a really good time, we talked, watched movies and went to Five Guys for dinner.
I stayed home alone for New Years Eve, because I didn't feel like going somewhere (I'm not a really big New Years Celebration Person^^) and my host parents where out at a "no kids party", so i had a wonderful night with ABC New Year's Rockin Eve and Murphy.
School started again on the 6th, and this is my schedule for this semester:

1st period: Honors Algebra 2 (it's a year-long class)
2nd period: Spanish 1
3rd period: Presidency (also year-long, bc it's my skinny block)
4th period: US-History
5th period: Economics and Civics or sth like this (we're never really doing anything in this class so yeah^^)

We're only having school for like 3 or 4 weeks and I need a break again, I don't know who had this amazing idea to have the school start at 7:20 and the bus coming at 6;15 so I have to get up at 5 O'CLOCK!!! I'm like sleeping half of the day because it's too early... But yeah whatever, I'm totally obsessed with Pretty Little Liars right now, I love this show so much and the girls are all so gorgeous *__*
So that's kinda it for now, maybe I'm gonna be updating more regular, I have no idea^^
Enjoy your time wherever you are!
